By the Way, Why Kickstarter? 

If you’re not familiar with it, Kickstarter is a crowdfunding site, where creators (like me!) make extra nifty projects and fans reap the benefits of early support. 

Kickstarter’s an awesome place to create fan-centered books I wouldn’t otherwise be able to make. This is my first hardcover edition of any book. I’ve never done a dust jacket. I’ve never done a special edition! 

Kickstarter makes those things possible. 

It’s also a great place to communicate directly with readers. To have a conversation, and to support other creators. My favorite part of launching the Interstellar Trials via Kickstarter last year was the direct interaction with readers and sci-fi fans. I adore Kickstarter for making that possible. 

If it’s not clear, I love these stories — and I know my readers do, too. I hope we can make this a treasure of a book into something really special.

Kickstarter has become one of my favorite places to find new books. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll have heard me liken it to the book fairs I used to go to in school. There’s no other online platform that comes close to recreating that magic. As a book lover, I’m thrilled to have a place to support new-to-me creators (and get LOTS to read).
